  • Ion Sputter is one of those resources in ARC Raiders that can make a normal raid feel much more complicated. This purple Epic material is needed for the fourth stage of Expedition Project 2, while its rare appearance means players may spend several runs searching before getting one. For anyone collecting ARC Raiders Items, knowing the right locations and having a safe extraction plan can make a big difference.

Start Your Search at Stella Montis

Stella Montis should be your main destination when farming Ion Sputter. The material is associated with technology from the Exodus era, so technical and industrial locations are more promising than ordinary loot areas.

The Assembly section is the first place worth checking. It contains several workshops and storage containers that can potentially hold the resource. Instead of moving through the area too quickly, take a little extra time to inspect containers carefully, especially those that are easy to overlook.

    Prioritize Assembly Workshops

The Assembly Workshops are the most important part of the route. Blue and white drawers, toolboxes, and similar storage containers should all be checked during each run. Since Ion Sputter has a low chance of appearing, consistency matters more than rushing through a single attempt.

A small room on the second floor deserves special attention. It is located close to the Raider extraction hatch near the Assembly area and is often considered one of the better spots for finding Ion Sputter. Because it is also close to an extraction route, it can be particularly useful when you want to secure a successful find quickly.

    Expand Into the Lobby Area

If your Assembly search comes up empty, continue toward the Lobby. One useful location is beneath the stairs above the subway station, where gray lockers can sometimes contain valuable materials.

The Lobby should be treated as a secondary stop rather than your primary farming location. Still, checking it takes little extra time when it fits naturally into your route, and every additional loot container gives you another opportunity to complete the search.

    Check Medical Rooms Too

The Medical Rooms provide another possible source. Search around medical bags, cabinets, and other containers in the area. The chance of finding Ion Sputter here is not considered as strong as the Assembly Workshops, but skipping these locations entirely can unnecessarily limit your options.

A good route therefore starts with Assembly, moves through the nearby workshop containers, and then branches toward the Lobby and Medical Rooms when the first search does not work out.

Secure Ion Sputter as Soon as You Find It

The biggest mistake is treating the item like ordinary loot after finding it. Ion Sputter can be placed in the Safe Pocket, so use that protection immediately. There is little reason to keep a rare material exposed in your backpack when the Safe Pocket can preserve it even if another Raider eliminates you later.

This becomes especially important around Assembly because the area can attract plenty of PvP activity. A successful loot search means very little if the item is lost before extraction.

    Use the Raider Hatch

Carrying the correct Hatch Key can make your extraction much safer. The Assembly Workshops include a Raider Hatch, giving you an extraction option close to the area where Ion Sputter is most likely to be found.

Using this route avoids unnecessary travel across the map. The shorter your journey after obtaining the resource, the fewer opportunities there are for another player to intercept you. Before entering Assembly, it is worth deciding whether you have the equipment needed to use the hatch if your search succeeds.

    Try a More Passive Approach

Players who repeatedly encounter heavy PvP can experiment with a quieter strategy. Some players use Free Kit runs and avoid initiating fights for several consecutive raids. Playing passively for a few matches may lead to less aggressive encounters, giving you more breathing room to concentrate on looting.

Friendly communication can also create unexpected opportunities. If another player is clearly willing to cooperate, voice or text communication may allow you to arrange a trade. Experienced players who have already completed their progression may have spare Ion Sputters and could accept Magnetron or another valuable purple material in exchange.

    Build a Reliable Farming Routine

The most effective Ion Sputter strategy combines location knowledge with risk management. Start at Assembly and carefully inspect its workshops, especially the second-floor room near the extraction hatch. If nothing appears, search the Lobby and Medical Rooms before deciding whether another run is worthwhile.

Once the material finally appears, protect it immediately and choose the safest available extraction rather than taking unnecessary risks. If repeated farming becomes too time-consuming, cheap ARC Raiders Materials can provide another way to reduce the amount of time spent searching while keeping your progression moving forward.
